Living For Jesus Together
"means"
Together as a Church Family we live for Jesus Christ and serve him only. (See John 12:26)
He is called our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.
(See Isaiah 9:6)
Jesus tells us in the Bible in (Luke 4:4) NKJV
“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’'
This means that it is essential for us to read and to hear the word of God and to live by it.
Hearing the Word of God (The Holy Bible) is the most important part of our daily walk with Jesus, so that we can build our faith in him and learn how we can apply what we have learnt and develop our relationship with God.
Jesus says in (John 6:35)
“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."
Jesus is telling us in this passage that he is the "Bread of Life" and whoever comes to him will never go "hungry" and whoever "believes in him" will never be "thirsty".
Jesus says in the Lords Prayer
"Give us this day our daily bread"
as seen below
(Matthew 6:9-13) NIV
(9)“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
(10) your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
(11) Give us today our daily bread.
(12) And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
(13) And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
We notice in the Lords prayer that we ask for God to give us for our daily bread, this is not just our physical food but most importantly "The Bread of Heaven that is Jesus Christ his Word in which we live on"
If we humbly come to Jesus each and every day with a heart of expectancy, looking, yearning and hungering for him and his word, desiring to be in his presence where there is fullness of joy truly seeking him with all our heart then we "will" surely "find him" and "never hunger" nor "thirst".
Jesus says in Matthew 5:6
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
The Holy Bible is our instruction manual to guide us in life, so that we can know how to have a personal relationship with God, and be at peace with him.
By reading our Bibles and listening to the Word of God, we can learn the fundamental values and teachings of Jesus Christ and have the understanding on how we can apply what we have learnt to our every day Journey.
The Bible teaches us how to rely on Jesus Christ and how to trust in him with all our heart.
In order for our faith to grow we must first hear “The Word of God”
The Bible says in (Romans 10:17) (NKJV)
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
in order for us to know and to believe in Jesus,
We must first hear his word the Good News of the Gospel.
Also in (Romans 10:14) (NIV)
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
By reading our Bibles and hearing the Word of God the good news of the Gospel
this is the only way our Faith in Jesus will grow and increase
as we hear his Word the Truth.
Let's have a look at some Instructions that the Lord gives us in the Bible verses below.
Proverbs 4:10-15 (NIV)
(10) Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many.
(11) I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths.
(12) When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
when you run, you will not stumble.
(13) Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;
guard it well, for it is your life.
(14) Do not set foot on the path of the wicked
or walk in the way of evildoers.
(15) Avoid it, do not travel on it;
turn from it and go on your way.
Then further in the same chapter it says in
Proverbs 4:20-27
(20) My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
(21) Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
(22) for they are life to those who find them
and health to one’s whole body.
(23) Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.
(24) Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
(25) Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
(26) Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.
27Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.
As we look at the Scriptures above in Proverbs we see God giving instructions to us and how we should walk with him.
This is just one passage of scripture
the more we read the our bibles and our knowledge of the Truth of Gods word is revealed to us we will then
know how we can live a life that is pleasing to God and how we can
keep ourselves away from the dangers of this world.
